Instead of teasing other people, even in good humor, when I feel like I am about to tease someone I will stop and either turn it on myself or resist the urge. |

If I can learn to be more sensitive. See if I can correct my behavior and learn. |

Matthew Cornell to enjoy: see how they react - share their feeling good?

Matthew Cornell I had a similar idea a while back, FYI - we're on the same wavelength!
ExperimentIdea: Turn the "play the ____ card" into something positive. Think ahead of time about "cards" the other party might play (race, sympathy, etc.) then mentally play that card in your head FOR THEM. Keep it positive by turning on your empathy, like the Stephen Covey story about kids misbehaving on a bus/train (dad is out of it, passenger complains, dad explains kids' mother just died/funeral)

Dan Owen Self-deprecation = opposite of teasing? Sounds right. Could it be that teasing is negative self-talk directed at others? There's more going on here than meets the eye. Good experiment.
