Increase thyroid medicine back up to 2.5 pills a day (tried decreasing to 2 1/4) but noticed body temp dropped to 98.0-98.2 and 2 lb weight gain. |

If body temp rises, and weight loss. |

I can always adjust further if it doesn't work. It might mean more supplement experimentation to figure out what's going on with hypothyroid symptoms. |

Lizzy Body temp at 11 am was 97.2. That's way low. I think reducing my medicine in the previous experiment definitely was not good. Hoping the morning temp gets better.

Lizzy Body temp on rising was 97.7. Seems reasonably good. Body temp at 1 pm ws 97.8. Still low. Hoping the medicine increase will get my temps back up.

MrRee what's the advantage of (or reason for) reducing the meds?
Jul 23, 2010
Lizzy I reduced the meds because I was concerned I was getting some hyperthyroid symptoms; jittery, heart palpitations here and there, which could be vitamin related, so I needed to test and see if it was thyroid meds (thyroid treatment takes tons of experimenting).
But when I reduced the medicine my body temp dropped from a steady 98.4 to 97.7 - 98.2, not good. And weight gain (3-4 lbs) in 10 days on the same diet. So I am raising meds to see about body temp and weight gain, and then will try something else for the hyperthyroid symptoms.

Lizzy Increasing my medicine again has proven to be good. Lost 1 lb of the 3-4 lbs I gained in those 10 days. Energy feels good, body temp 98.2 at 5 pm. So body temp has come back up. Yay!

Lizzy For better accuracy with body temp measurements I am using Dr. Rind's Temp Chart. The diagram helps track and see patterns in body temp which indicate thyroid or adrenal problems.

Lizzy Body temp still seems low. And weight fluctuates. I am going to increase my meds in a new experiment.
