Lizzy Avrum, I like this a lot. Need to read about it for myself.

Lizzy I will be an accountability partner if you need one, plus it will help me follow the process.

Avrum Liza - you're on! What's the next step? A chat via Skype? Emial?
Jul 20, 2010
Lizzy Only caveat is that i might be terribly unaccountable! Does it basically mean that you send me updates every day on your progress and I can just observe? Or is it a more active role?

Avrum Liza - I can update on this page, and you can follow along and provide feedback. At any time you want to jump on board, we can move to private email or skype.

Matthew Cornell I'm excited to see how this experiment goes, Avrum. I have Leo's PDF and I'll be following along. Note: I'll be emailing Edison users about our new email notification feature. Go to your profile http://edison.thinktrylearn.com/edit_profile and check "Receive an email if someone comments on my experiments." Good luck!

Lizzy Sure post here and I will follow, or weigh in if I see something. I might be a terrible partner but I will give it a try ;-)

Avrum I want to blame my inability to do 3 MITs on my new son - but my wife had him for most of the day. I need to find a better excuse... be back soon.
Jul 21, 2010
Brock Tice He will give you plenty of opportunities to blame him, don't worry (or do?).

Avrum Actually, I'm starting to think that planning any habit/system at this point might be silly. I need to give this some thought. Any dads wanna share some advice vis-a-vis establishing new habits during the newborn phase.
Jul 21, 2010
Brock Tice I found the newborn phase to be mainly about survival. Good habits to work on are napping when the baby naps, and improving your diaper-changing skills so that you don't have to really wake up in the middle of the night to do it.

Brock Tice Other tips are welcome, I've got another one coming in December, so I could benefit as well!

Avrum Survival... I agree Brock.

Matthew Cornell Avrum: It's been 9 years since those days, but I remember it being a very trying time. I wasn't practicing GTD then. However, it might be a good time to cut way back on your expectations around being productive. Being a new parent is such a huge, full-life task with serious health demands (lack of sleep often being foremost). Waiting on the experiment might make a lot of sense. Then again, trying it with an open, scientific mind (i.e., no expectations) would be interesting for other new parents to learn from. Good luck with the parenting! There are many experiments possible in that condition - getting baby to sleep, for example.
Brock: Wow!

Avrum Thanks Matthew.

Koen I've implemented a GTD/ZTD-like setup since 3 years now and it's been one of the most fundamental changes in my life. It's certainly about productivity, but for me even more about being at ease, less stress and mor energy/time for some creative thinking. Go for it Avrum!
