Promote My Worksheet

1

What will you do?

Run an eblast to my dad's customers (through his website) promoting my digital worksheet on Hypothyroidism and Adrenal Fatigue. His customers buy Lugol's which is a supplement for Hypothyroid so the audience is right on. The question will be about the eblast itself.

2

How will you test your idea and measure success?

I will run a test eblast to a small segment of the mailing list to see if we get clicks and if this revenue justifies the expense of the mailing service. If yes then I will blast to the other 2400 people.

3

How will you know you are done?

After the preliminary test I will decide whether to proceed.

4

How will you enjoy the journey?

If it doesn't make any money, I've at least spread word about the site and condition. And I only spent a few hours, no great loss.

Lizzy Sent the test segment to 282 people. Waiting to see if orders come in, and how many unsubscribes we get.

Lizzy Oh and sending eblasts to people feels very vulnerable. When people unsubscribe its hard not to take it personally. So being okay with that is part of the process.

Matthew Cornell Great experiment, Liza. Are you concerned they will unsubscribe from your dad's list because of your promotion? I wouldn't worry if he's OK with it. Of course looking at unsubscribement as information would be interesting. What tool are you using for tracking and fulfilling sales? E-junkie works pretty well, but you basically have to use coupons to track, vs. Analytics.

Lizzy Thanks, I am not too worried about unsubscribes. We did the test segment first (rather then the entire list) which was very interesting. Only 4 unsubscribes out of 264 recipients. This seems reasonable. The other interesting observation is that there were 3 orders, at $7 per, amounts to $21 which doesn't cover the cost of the mailing. So in order to make money we would need to get the offer into a higher price point, perhaps pairing with another product. Ideally, in the $19-39 range to see some scaling. But doing just digital products is appealing because it means no product handling. So perhaps the worksheet should be beefed up and sold at a higher price.

Here are the mailing stats for those who are curious.

Total Recipients: 264
Recipients who Opened the email" 97 (36% - pretty good!)
Total Times opened: 115
Recipients who clicked: 15
Unsubscribes: 4
Orders so far: 3
