Avrum Asked partner if she would be interested in publishing an ebook. Sent her a "how to" link vis-a-vis ebook publishing.

Lizzy Hi Avrum, this is a great experiment idea. Matt and I have both explored the ebook world, its a great scalable revenue model. What was the "how-to" link you mentioned?

Avrum Hi Liza.
Here's the link:

More motivation than "how to".

Matthew Cornell I love it, Avrum. As Liza said, it's a great idea, esp. in these economic times. Give me a holler if you want to brainstorm.

Avrum Thanks Matt.
One issue my partner raised is the tech-know-how of parents/teachers, etc. This is a good point. Podcasts, blogs, etc., while popular, are still an esoteric medium for my target market. Still, the side benefits of having a product i.e. ebook, outweigh the risks that people won't know how to download it, or are not comfortable using their credit card online.
Thoughts?

Avrum For the first time, my partner has begun to take initiative on the project. I'm wondering what I can do to encourage more of the same.

Matthew Cornell The requirements aren't too big, I think: Using a cart or Buy Now button, paying with credit card (via Paypal, say), and downloading and viewing a PDF are all common these days.

Avrum A little stuck... m'partner, who is usually good at responding to emails, hasn't in the past few days. She works full-time (at a high school), so she's probably overwhelmed with post-holiday work overload. Still, the momentum has dropped.

Lizzy This time of year is really tricky for sustaining momentum. I experience it personally and see it with my clients as well. Starting around Dec 23rd through Jan 10th. I try to remember this every year and use it as a self-imposed holiday. The trick is getting the fire back, right about now. I try to change my routine, jumpstart it somehow... buying new music, or going to the local coffee shop to work, or having a lunch meeting with a colleague. Anything to change the pattern. Its hard because you are waiting on someone else. But what could you do to ignite that spark and generate some energy for yourself?

Avrum Thanks Liza.
As is often the case, 15 min after I posted my update, she emailed. We're meeting this week :)

Avrum Over the past few months I've: 1. started to co-author a book with my wife and supervisor 2. had a lovely baby boy 3. had an increase in referals & subsequent wait-list. As a result, the above project is now on hold (and does not hold nearly as much interest as the book project). Thanks to Matthew for the nudge.

Matthew Cornell Knowing when to stop an experiment - or put it on hold - is important. Good thinking.
