Break down past milestones to help with future goals/projects

Created by Avrum Apr 14, 2011 | Category Other

Thumb

Overview Draft a list of personal milestones (that I accomplished), and see if they breakdown according to the HARD goal formula: Heartfelt, Animated, Required, and Difficult. Is there a pattern I can discern that will help me set future compelling goals/vision? See experiment

Overview Use Illustrator to create a planner that captures, in one place, my 3 MITs (most important tasks), measure 3-6 habits by time or energy, and provides space for quick ideas and future to-dos, errands, etc. See experiment

yodayeti Avrum, your list of ingredients above sounds very interesting. I would be interested to see what came out of this potpourri.

Avrum Yodayeti - here's what I've discovered: All of the hacks, productivity advice and software/hardware mean diddly-squat when your projects/vision is weak. So it's back to the drawing board for me.

Koen I've implemented a GTD/ZTD-like setup since 3 years now and it's been one of the most fundamental changes in my life. It's certainly about productivity, but for me even more about being at ease, less stress and mor energy/time for some creative thinking. Go for it Avrum!

Avrum Over the past few months I've: 1. started to co-author a book with my wife and supervisor 2. had a lovely baby boy 3. had an increase in referals & subsequent wait-list. As a result, the above project is now on hold (and does not hold nearly as much interest as the book project). Thanks to Matthew for the nudge.

Matthew Cornell Knowing when to stop an experiment - or put it on hold - is important. Good thinking.
