Increase Naturthroid Prescription by 1/4

Overview Increase thyroid medicine back up to 2.5 pills a day (tried decreasing to 2 1/4) but noticed body temp dropped to 98.0-98.2 and 2 lb weight gain. See experiment

Comment

Liza Cunningham I reduced the meds because I was concerned I was getting some hyperthyroid symptoms; jittery, heart palpitations here and there, which could be vitamin related, so I needed to test and see if it was thyroid meds (thyroid treatment takes tons of experimenting). But when I reduced the medicine my body temp dropped from a steady 98.4 to 97.7 - 98.2, not good. And wei... See more

Liza Cunningham Increasing my medicine again has proven to be good. Lost 1 lb of the 3-4 lbs I gained in those 10 days. Energy feels good, body temp 98.2 at 5 pm. So body temp has come back up. Yay!

Liza Cunningham Body temp at 5pm is 98, that's on a 90 degree day, and after running 2 miles. Also, I've noticed about a 2 lb weight gain which doesn't seem to be improving. Going to increase back up to 2.5 pills a day and see what happens.

Increase Iron and Ferritin

Created by Liza Cunningham Jun 14, 2010 | Tags Iron, Iron Supplements, Ferritin, Hypothyroid

Thumb

Overview Try a new brand of iron supplement in order to increase my iron and ferritin levels which are very low (common with hypothyroid). In the past few months I've noticed my hair seems more fine, and losing more noticeably which I read is likely related to low iron. Also hoping it will help continue to improve energy and mi... See experiment

Comment

Liza Cunningham I read on the Yahoo Hair Growth forum that Iron levels (lab work) needs to be at 70-90 for hair regrowth. So having low iron is a big factor for me related to hair issues. My iron has always been low. And it takes months of solid iron supplementation to increase iron in the body. Will get lab work soon to see if iron supplementation these past few months is helping.

Matthew Cornell Make sure they use a rusty nail to draw the blood. That way you get your results *plus* a little iron boost.

Overview Try supplement of Evening Primrose Oil to get more Omega-6 in my diet. I have read this is especially good for Hypothyroid people like me. In particular for hair texture, and growth. Mary Shomon wrote about it, and she is one of the Hypothyroid patient experts so giving it a try. See experiment

Change the Conversation

Overview My greatest realization lately is that continuing the same conversation/dialogue/patterns will yield the same result. So if I want to change the outcome, I must look at my own behavior.

When it comes to interaction, I need to analyze the kinds of questions I ask, and the kind of person I want to be in a conve... See experiment

Liza Cunningham I've been working on this experiment for months now but haven't been updating. Here is what I've learned... In particular, when it comes to dating I have been practicing new conversation approaches. Most importantly, to be totally silly and have fun. So when a date asks what I do for work, I might say "Horse Whispering." or "I am an international spy, shh! Don't te... See more

Matthew Cornell I love your injecting lightness into the process. I can imagine people can get pretty serious. Good for you! (Side note: I was at a local grocery store last night and noticed a large young bald guy who actually had an ankle bracelet on. I didn't want to look too closely ;-)

Try DHEA Completed

Overview Due to thyroid and adrenal conditions, my DHEA dropped from around 300 (good range) to 50 (very low range). My doctor started me on 25 mg of DHEA day (a good brand, and yes there is a difference).

From what I know DHEA is an anti-aging supplement which helps with muscle building and mood support, as well as... See experiment

Comment

Liza Cunningham I stopped the DHEA about a week ago and I definitely am feeling better. Foggy thinking and other symptoms have improved. Though I still feel sluggish I think that's residual. I am marking this one done! I will live with low DHEA until I can determine other options.

Brock Tice Aside from the direct benefits you mention (yay!), and traffic, do you have any other metrics? Are you watching PageRank or checking search results for relevant keywords on various search engines?

Jun 09, 2010

Comment

Liza Cunningham Hey Brock, yes watching metrics which are only moving slightly. I am also running a few ads with different messages, but on the same keywords to see which perform the best (most clicks). My experiment is to see how much it costs to sell one worksheet up to $10. It may be that I learn its not cost effective, but its interesting!

Promote My Worksheet Completed

Overview Run an eblast to my dad's customers (through his website) promoting my digital worksheet on Hypothyroidism and Adrenal Fatigue. His customers buy Lugol's which is a supplement for Hypothyroid so the audience is right on. The question will be about the eblast itself. See experiment

Comment

Matthew Cornell Great experiment, Liza. Are you concerned they will unsubscribe from your dad's list because of your promotion? I wouldn't worry if he's OK with it. Of course looking at unsubscribement as information would be interesting. What tool are you using for tracking and fulfilling sales? E-junkie works pretty well, but you basically have to use coupons to track, vs. Analytics.

May 28, 2010

Comment

Liza Cunningham Thanks, I am not too worried about unsubscribes. We did the test segment first (rather then the entire list) which was very interesting. Only 4 unsubscribes out of 264 recipients. This seems reasonable. The other interesting observation is that there were 3 orders, at $7 per, amounts to $21 which doesn't cover the cost of the mailing. So in order to make money we would... Work, Relationship, Fun Balance

Created by Liza Cunningham Dec 30, 2009 | Tags work, relationships, fun

Thumb

Overview Read some great advice that one has to find a balance between work, love and fun. All three should be 100%, otherwise we lean on one over the other causing imbalance. For me:

Work 100%
Relationships 100%
Fun 70%

So I definitely need to work on the fun balance. Every week I will try one ... See experiment

Matthew Cornell Sounds great. Question: Are you finding ways to make you think of adding these kinds of activities in, or is it still an effort (if it was)? P.S. For you: http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewcornell/4459046972/

Liza Cunningham Good question Matt. Sometimes it takes effort, especially to break out of my routine. So I have to remember some of our favorite ideas like "Hey, you never know". And my new favorite "What you put out into the world you get back". If I stick with my routine everything stays the same, so that's big incentive to put in the effort and see what will happen.
