Daily Goal

Created by Courtney Williams Dec 10, 2011 | Category Other

Thumb

Overview I will start every day by writing what I need to do. I will choose one goal and focus on that. If I complete it I can more. See experiment

Matthew Cornell Any news? Experiment still active?

Courtney Williams Not really active - I think there are better ways to organise such a goal that aren't especially quantifiable. I also think it's hard to put an exact number on a goal until after you've done it!

Matthew Cornell For others, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaternion . Very cool. Welcome.

Sam Final observation: The solution to this is using dual-quaternions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_quaternion) which is straight forward if one gets the normal quaternions :)

Keeping Track of the Keys

Created by Stacey Summitt Mann Jan 17, 2012 | Category Other

Overview I will have a standard spot for my keys at home and in the office. The objective in having this "standard spot" is to reduce the number and time spent on "finding misplaced keys." See experiment

Don't lose the cell phone!

Overview I will have standard location for my phone at the office. When I arrive in the morning, it goes into the magnetic basket and is turned to vibrate. When I leave, it returns to sound and goes in my coat pocket. :) See experiment

Stacey Summitt Mann Boo...such a good streak going. Forgot it int he gym as I was using phone as a stop watch. I did, however, remember to go get it so it's sort of a half ass success. Haha

Matthew Cornell This is an interesting experiment, Stacey. For me, sometimes I have to adjust me expectations of what 'success' means with respect to personal experiments. Sometimes I learn so much along the way that, regardless of the outcome, I feel I've improved myself. Good work!

Life's Journey

Group Experiment

Created by bonnie Nov 15, 2011 | Category Other

Profile_default_thumb

Overview I am a late, late bloomer. As a child I wished we were not that poor. I have asked many questions about my existence: Why was I born? Is there a purpose in life? I found the answer finally, after near retirement. Now I want to help people communicate with themselves, the purpose why they are around. See experiment

Comment

Matthew Cornell Hi Bonnie. Sounds like a creative group experiment. What usually works best is to ask around your community (email, facebook, etc) and find like-minded folks willing to join you here. Good luck!

Overview I'm going to follow the plan at http://hundredpushups.com and eventually do 100 push ups straight. I just did 26 "good form" push ups for the initial test, so that means I start the program in week 3 under the "> 25 push ups" column. Wednesday will be day o... See experiment

Ralf Westphal I´m going to a gym to build up muscles. It´s a health oriented gym instead of a "vanity gym" ;-) And they tell us: 1. Don´t come more often than every other day, i.e. 3 times a week. 2. Don´t try to force build up of muscles. Do it gently. That means: Find your limit, e.g. 26 push ups "the right way". Then increase by 5%. If next time you do 28 push ... See more

59 seconds

Overview In the book "59 Seconds: Think a Little, Change a Lot" Wiseman presents quite a lot of self help tips where the results have been really studied. So it is more practical then "write down your goals and happiness will come" so I will break the book down and go through each suggestion he gives. So this ... See experiment

Matthew Cornell Sounds great, Fredrik. This is an example of a "meta experiment" or "line of inquiry" that's composed of multiple experiments. I have some too.

Overview I will think positively. Whenever I get a negative thought, I will replace with a positive one not allowing my mind to play a negative movie. The1 I started the experiment yesterday. I was feeling bad about a situation (Intensity: 7/10). I wrote a blog in my Journal, drawing out positive conclusions asking the question "What's the opportunity that this is" and it worked very well :)

Peak Productivity/Creativity?

Created by Mark Ayers Sep 09, 2011 | Category Other
